Can all gaming PCs have a extra ram added

Solution
This is not a "gaming" pc question, just a PC question in general.

Every motherboard has a certain amount of slots for ram, and a max size of ram that each slot will support.
So if you have 4 slots and only using 2 then you can add 2 more sticks.

Now where it gets a little more tricky is in ram timings and speed, and in general operation.
Each ram stick has a frequency (speed that it can run it), timings and CAS latency. These 3 things need to be the same across all sticks or it will default to the slowest one. Even with getting the same type of stick or even the exact same model there can still be instability; when you buy a kit of 2 sticks of ram they are made from the same piece of silicone and tested guaranteed to work...
There is no limit to how much RAM a gaming PC can have (depending on the capacity of the motherboard). The best thing to focus on is what you need for the games you are going to be playing and buy the fastest RAM you can afford. Having faster 8gb ram than a slower option of 12gb when you don't use the other 4gb just makes good sense (this is the information displayed in Mhz in case you're not familiar) such as 2400Mhz.
