Can all modern GPUs support 10 bit color?

Hi, Can all medium strength to high strength GPUs support 10 bit color or do you need specific GPUs?

Do Video Games support 10 bit color?


Is strength a correct term to describe GPUs? If no, what is the right word to describe GPUs power?

The correct term is 'colour depth'.
6bpc or 8bpc is also known as 'SDR'.
> 8bpc is known as 'HDR'. (So 10 or 12bpc.)

All NVIDIA GPUs from the 900, 1000 and 2000 series support HDR display output according to Nvidia's website.
For AMD their Polaris, Vega and (I imagine) Navi based GPUs support HDR.
Also as a general guide, if the GPU has HDMI 2.0 or >, you can normally get it to output in HDR.

Some recent PC games are now supporting >8bpc. But it's not very common yet.
It's more of a thing in the console space, where PS4, PS4 Pro, XB1S and XB1X support 10 or 12bpc.

GPUs or Video cards are sometimes referred to as being low-end, mid-range or high-end. Or low-tier, mid-tier, high-tier etc.
