Can an airtime SIM card be adapted to an SD slot on a laptop?

Don't have a dongle for USB connection, and thought there might be a less expensive SD adapter methods of connecting to the internet the same way that a dongle would. However I'm not even sure if SD slots even function in that manner
. This is kind of a shot in the dark.

I don't know of anything like that. A USB cellular modem or a cellular hotspot would be your two choices. Your phone may be usable as a WIFI hotspot.

You can't use a SIM card in an SD card slot.
