What is the make/model of the motherboard?
The s suffix processors are usually low wattage and lower performing processors.
I am not aware that there is a i5-9400s. Could you mean i5-9400f?
If so, the f suffix designates a processor without integrated graphics capability.

If you have a cpu and motherboard capable of running integrated graphics, you should be able to run up to 3 monitors.

oops yes, I meant f I was typing on my phone. IDK which motherboard it is because it is in an
ACER XC-885

Far as I see the xc885 doesn't come with a 9400f (which doesn't have integrated graphics) but a straight 9400 which has intel hd630.

Type device manager into the windows search bar.

Open it then click on the display adapters tab from the box that opens.

What does it say there is your display adapter?

Your I5-6400 can run as many monitors as can be attached to the port outputs on the back of your motherboard. I think that will be 3.
