Hello bois. New PC builder
As I was re-checking for compatibility in my setup, I noticed that pcpartpicker pointed at the fact that "Some Intel B360 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." Here are the parts, just in case:
  • CPU : Right now looking at the i7-9700K
  • Mobo: MSI B360 Gaming Plus
  • RAM: 2 x 8 DDR4 2400Mhz Corsair
  • GPU: RTX 2060 (and I think those are the basics that I should be checking for compatibility)
So my question is, is it possible for me to run a fresh new 9700K on a fresh new MSI B360 Gaming Plus, or would I really need a BIOS update? I am asking since I don't have any other CPU I could run the PC off of to update BIOS, so I want to know before spending my money.
Thanks in advance!
