I'm about to start ordering parts for my new build and I was wondering if the GTX 970 (which I still haven't ordered) will be able to handle 3 monitors (1080p).

Should I add more Ram (currently have 16GB) to get better performance on the 3 monitors?

Thanks!!

You'll need a powerful GPU or multiple GPUs in SLI, yes.

Yes, it can handle the three monitors, and no, adding more RAM will not improve your performance on the three monitors.

Do you mean 3 monitor gaming or just being able to run 3 displays at once? It can run some 2011 titles across 3 monitors but running games from today across 3 you'll have a few issues. It can natively support up to 4 monitors I believe.

According to the Nvidia and MSI specifications pages, it can handle up to 4 monitors. The amount of VRAM is what handles the resolutions better, not system RAM. VRAM is the RAM on the card its self, with the MSI GTX 970 having 4GB.

Gaming, I do not expect it to run latest games thought, I'll have to play most in 1 monitor.

But what could I do in order to be able to play the latest games in 3 monitors? LSI?
