Can an R9 270 run GTA V?

Solution
Most of the games till NOW are single-threaded focused + AMD doesn't have any 8-core CPUs at all. They use 4 physical cores and 4 modules which perform at half-speeds (which is NOT good at all for performance enthusiasts). If you want to run it smoother than your current CPU, you might as well just go for an i5 OR if you have the money, go for an i7 4790k. It will be feeding your system much more performance than your current CPU and/or an FX-8350.

Yes I know (I am pretty sure you have posted on one of my other threads before lol I am just asking a lot of questions about what the best CPU for a budget is and what a good CPU would be) I plan on upgrading to an i5 4460 before or soon after GTA V comes out will that be enough to handle it on medium-high settings with a smooth 30fps?

whats your current CPU right now?

Athlon x4 760k

not bad honestly even though the i5 4460 is good i would recommend a fx 8350 or a fx 8320 because games now a days are using physical cores, and with 4.0ghz on fx 8350 youll get over 30 fps easily

Wow this got best answer? People really must be wasting away worse everyday! A guy saying the FX-8350 is not as good as a i5. It is true that the FX-8350 is not as good as a i7, But it is equal with most modern i5 cpu's. And the FX-8320 even the six core FX-6300 is more than enough to run current high end graphics cards like the GTX 970/R9 290 up to the GTX 980. Replacing your FX-8350 would be a waste of money. And yes the R9 270 will run the game smooth, Just do not expect to run it on high or Ultra settings. If you run 1080p the best GPU to get would be the R9 280 since it is selling on newegg right now for $179. And the R9 290 is selling for $269 on newegg. But if you like Nvidia, Paying the extra for the 970 would be good investment. But as far as the best bang for buck GPU the R9 270 wins hands down. It can run anything out today with no problems as long as you are conservative with your settings.
