Can anybody tell me what is going on with this?

I'm getting a weird look to my screen when I run a game. I'll post a pic in a moment.

Any information and fixes are appreciated.

Try a different monitor cable. Try a different monitor. Try a different graphics card.

Looks like artifacts to me. Probably a dying card but you can try the different cable/monitor to rule it out. Clean the card so it's dust free, and make sure the fan is spinning.

Card is new. Bought and inserted a week ago. Fans spin and after about 15 minutes it goes away. It only does it on games. Never anything else. Temp runs about 60-70 and fan runs at 1400 rpm.

And all new parts? I'd try the other cable and monitor. Might be a DOA 280, try in another machine if possible.

It's not the cable. It's done it on three different cables. If it was the monitor, wouldn't it do that on other things besides the game?

Depends on the game. Does it only happen on one particular game?

So far. But the other game I have is nowhere near as taxing as FF14. I really am new to the whole build world and this is my first run at it. Information is important to me for future problems.

Edit: Bought another game last night and noticed that there are minor artifacts there as well. Nothing along that scale as in the picture above. Should I save for a bigger card or are there other things I could try to do?

If your monitor and cable are OK, then its most likely a faulty graphics card. Try it in another PC. Try another card in your PC.

You are probably right and that the video card is faulty. Sucks for me.

Try the video card in someone else computer. If it still shows up, there is the problem. You said the card is new, so try an RMA.
