Can anyone advice how to recover data from a damaged hard disk

My dell xps laptop suddenly go hanged n then have not been able to read the disk. It's show in disk error . can't read the disk. I need to retrieve the data or else will be in big trouble

There are professional disk recovery companies that could help you. But as far as DIY disk recovery, i wont recomend it.

Put it in a pc and do a checkdisk to see if it recovers. If so then copy everything onto a new laptop hard drive.

Else see if a data recovery guy can help and get a new laptop hard drive and re-install Windows on it.

Tried connecting in another comp but can only detect the disk. Not Ab

Some people will also suggest putting it in the fridge for 2 hours then doing a drop test...

But no...

The reason the drive cannot be detected is because the neodyium magnet inside the drive is unable to properly orient the pin that reads and writes on the disk.

Thus to recover your files, they take apart the drive and recover the disk.
