Before upgrading the gpu it is important to know what exact psu you have and the age. Wattage alone is fairly meaningless if quality is poor.
What types of games do you play? I use a 1440p 144Hz monitor and I have just upgraded from a 2080S to a 3080. The 2080S I found underwhelming in some games. For example with the 2080S in COD MW I had to run medium settings with RT off to achieve 120+ FPS. With the 3080 I can run high/very high with RT on and get 120-130 FPS average. 1440p 144Hz is a big step up in gpu workload over 1080p 144Hz. Depending on the games you want to play you may be best looking at 1080p 144Hz. If you want to play the latest AAA games at high settings and FPS you will spend your whole budget on the gpu.
I was looking for about £650 for both monitor and gpu
3080 would be great but a bit pricey
Not planning to update cpu or mobo but PSU is big..cant recall what size but would change to suit if required.. cheers
