Ok so I have been looking into an upgrade for my pc.
Yesterday I ordered the parts and today went to fit it all. But when I got to the cpu it did not fit and when I went to fit the ddr4 ram it did not fit.
The mobo is meant to be a 1151 socket and ddr4. Specs are below

Mobo MSI z170A gaming pro carbon
Ddr4 ram g.skill 16gb (8x 2)
CPU i5-6600K

Also my ddr3 ram fits the mobo though.

The CPU and RAM should fit, are you sure your installing them correctly? Also don't use your DDR3 RAM in that system as it will ruin that CPU.

Yes they deffo don't fit and I can't understand why.

sounds like you got the wrong motherboard

Can you post pictures of the board?

Is the model number correct on the box? is there a make or model listed on a motherboard sticker somewhere?

does the cpu socket have visible metal pins or is it plastic holes everywhere(amd cpu board)?

no mater what you need to contact where you got it from because they sent your wrong item.
