Hi All
Hoping someone can help me make an informed choice in purchasing a new monitor that will be used both for gaming on PC and Xbox One X.
I currently have a 4K monitor with 60Hz refresh rate. I predominently use my Xbox, however there are a few games that I play on PC. I really want to take advantage of higher refresh rates on PC and heard that 1440p resolution with 144Hz refresh rate is the way to go to really experience PC gaming at it's best, however I would like the monitor to benefit from any specifications and display options the Xbox has as well. I am considering migrating some of my game play from the Xbox to PC, just for the sheer fact how much better games look with higher refresh rates, but I'll never migrate fully and there will always be a space for my Xbox on my desk.
I thought that I'd better mention that I am from the UK and I have a healthy budget available to me, but obviously would want the monitor to cost as least as possible, and it has to be a minimum of 27" in size, have 2 HDMI ports and have built in speakers / headphone socket. I know the speakers are usually poor in monitors but I game a lot with headphones and it's just easier to keep my headphones plugged into the monitor when changing from PC to Xbox.
If anyone has any recommendations they can put forward to me I would be grateful to hear them, and if you need any further info to help with coming up with ideas then please let me know.
Many thanks in advance.

I’d look at one of the monitors that is Freesync but certified G-Sync compatible. The Freesync will work with XBox and AMD GPU’s and the G-Sync will work with NVidia.

This is a great monitor https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl83a-b I have this and it ticks all the boxes. It was also great value when I bought it as I managed to get it for £419. This is basically the same monitor but includes a USB hub https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl850-b

Unfortunately prices have gone up and stocks harder to find in this pandemic.

Many thanks for the advice.

I've taken it onboard and bought a Gigabit Aorus FI27Q, it was the one that fit the bill the best that I could find in stock. The only downside is that it doesn't have built in speakers, but does have a headphone socket which I'm hoping will transmit sound through my headphones. No real issue if it doesn't, as I do have a set of PC speakers with a headphone socket that I can use instead.

Cheers again and looking forward to seeing how it performs on both PC and Xbox One X!
