Can anyone recommend a monitor that you can turn vertically, having a hard time finding one that has decent reviews. Main use would be gaming, with some video editing and photo editing but with a budget in mind it's okay if it isn't perfect.

Budget: <$300 (USD)

Was originally looking for a 1080p with 60hz or greater but if anyone can recommend a nice 1440p monitor that would be great as well.

Most all modern monitors, and a lot of older ones, can do this. Primarily, monitor rotation (Portrait) is a feature of the software, not the panel. The panel doesn't really care what orientation the pixels are in so long as they are instructed to show in a specific orientation they will generally do so.

Now, if you are looking for one that will not require a VESA mount to do it, that allows it natively through it's own base, that is a different story.

What size panel are you wanting?

One important thing to consider. A monitor is probably going to last you a LONG TIME. Probably longer than your computer's current build and its next upgraded build and a few more... So if you can wait an extra month to put a couple more bucks into buying a better monitor, do so.

Also, I recently picked up a Viewsonic XG2701 monitor. It has a great setup for rotating the monitor that I really like. You might want to look at it. One other thing. It would be a good idea to swing by a Best Buy or whatever big computer store is near you and take a look at the monitors. See what they look and feel like for rotating the panel. You don't gotta buy from them but they are a good place to get touchy feely with the monitors kinda like trying on clothes at stores instead of just buying online without really knowing how they fit.

That makes sense, thanks for explaining that. And I'm really open to any size between 20-27 inches

You're right, and I have but they didn't have many options at my local best buy.. Will have to look around a bit more I guess

Thanks for getting back to us on this. You still didn't answer though whether or not you are looking for one that can do this natively or if you are ok with using a VESA mount to do it? Will this be the primary monitor, or a secondary one?

What refresh rate are you targeting, 60hz or a higher one like 120/144hz?

DO you require that it be an IPS panel, or is a TN panel ok?

Hey guys, I've changed my entire mind on this. Going to try and get 2 IPS monitors for a dual monitor setup, 1080p or 1440p would be sweet. Not entirely down for 4k just yet as it's still expensive and hard to run most games on it.

If I could get 2 monitors with 100hz+ that would be sweet. 1080p @100hz+ would be my sweet spot. Not sure I care about price right now

Update- A small bezel would be sweet too, oh and it does not have to have speakers.

Make sure before you choose two monitors side by side you take a look at how much bigger the next size up is. I couldn't believe how small my 24" monitor looked compared to my 27." Three inches makes a huge difference.
