I'm looking to buy this system I5675-A602BLU-PUS it has the Ryzen 7 1800x, AMD RX580 and I'm going to put an extra 16gb of RAM in it. All 3rd party sellers do not have the PSU wattage included in the specs. I've chatted with a Dell chat dude and he said this configuration has a 850W PSU BUT the "answered questions" in Amazon has it split down the middle with half the people saying it has an 850W and the other half saying it's only a 460W! This is a big freaking difference!! I'm jaded enough about "chat support" that I don't really totally trust the guy and the Amazon stuff just muddies the water more!

I can't imagine ANY pc maker putting a 460W PSU with these Ryzen and AMD cpu and gpu and thinking that they would function well! Neweggs psu calculator said I'll need at least a 650W! Does anyone have this exact computer and can tell me what is ACTUALLY in it?
Thanks

I found a compatible power supply on Amazon.com that will fit the Dell 5675. The only thing that didn't fit was 1 out of the 4 screws which is not a problem. The power plug is also in the correct position on the left as the old 460watt PSU. Do yourself a favor and buy the following https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Strider-P...

Do not buy Dell's crappy 850watt power supply for an outrageous 250 bucks. You can find Dell's upgrade on Ebay for a reasonable price but non of them come with the cables (wiring harness) so even if you do buy the unit its useless. I hope this solves everyones PSU woes =P
I can't tell you definitively, but I could take a good guess.

Between an R7 1700 and an RX580 - you're looking at ~300W power draw (peak would be higher), and Dell units typically have the bare minimum.
A 460W unit sounds about right for a Dell setup of this nature.

AFAIK, Dell units still ship with either AcBel or Delta PSUs - with Delta being the superior.

I don't see any reason at all that Dell would ship the thing with an 850W unit...... 850W units cost more (as they'll be from one of two suppliers), and there's no need to supply one in that rig - OEM units are not anticipated to be upgraded.

Components today are much more efficient than they used to be and a 460w PSU if it were a good, quality one, may be enough to power that. But im going to guess that no matter what PSU is in it, its going to be crap and id replace it as soon as you get the PC with something better.

^^ Dells can be hit or miss. The Delta's are actually quite good (for what they are). The AcBels....not so much, but they're technically sufficient.

IMO, If I were buying an OEM system to use 'as is', I wouldn't touch the PSU - yes, you could easily replace with better quality, but the system is warrantied as a complete unit. I'd run it, if it fails, that's Dell's problem..... and replace it when the warranty term is up.

Honestly 460w is more than enough. If you would put every component at 100% load the pc would peak at around 350w give or take. Officially this model ships with a 460w psu. Dell will save money where it can be saved and including a bigger psu is unnecesary.
If you want you can upgrade but there is no real need to. If it has an acbel in it then you might wanna consider it but if it's a delta unit you are golden.

The 16 GB RAM will make almost no difference in power draw. Aftermarket PSUs are sold by the Watt and use peak ratings in their advertising. Dell PSUs are rated at constant output which is more useful for IT techs. Since they don't have a lot of extra cables it takes a test bench to actually overload one. When tested this way they usually exceed their rated power by as much as 100W and then shut down with no drama or damage to any parts.
