I just got a new case the 780t and airflow is great, however it only decreased my gpu temps to 75 when they were at 77-80. I have the 980ti SC+ ACX 2.0 and was wondering if this is normal for one. Second is it bad to set the fan curve to 50 degrees, 50%, 60 degrees 60%, 70 degrees 70% etc. Right now i have t hat set up fans blazing at 70% and temps went down to around 65 which is better in my opinion. Is it bad in any way, besides noise, to have fans running at that high of a percentage ? And again, is this about right for temps on a 980ti sc acx 2.0?

Also running an i7-4790k, Hyper Evo 212 CPU Cooler (switching to h100i soon, and an 800w psu. Thanks.

75 sounds like a perfectly reasonable temperature for an overclocked 980 Ti on air.

In regards to your second question, if you don't mind the crazy noise and the reduced bearing life of having your fans turned up that high, then sure, that's fine. It's not really necessary to keep your GPU down to 65C though, since odds are it will overclock just as well at 75C.

So you think even with an ACX 2.0 75 degrees on some games like witcher 3, elder scrolls online, is fine?

yea i mean idk how else to cool it down, maybe get the h100i so no heat from cpu but idk i got a huge case, added a 3rd fan and its still 75-76 sometimes in big fights on elder scrolls online

Maybe, but odds are your CPU is generating less than half as much heat in your case as your graphics card. If you have 2 intake fans and one exhaust, generally speaking you won't change the performance all that much by adding more fans. In my own case, I have 3x140 intake and 1x140 exhaust, though mainly because the intakes are filtered and I run all the fans at a pretty low RPM range for dead silence (400-800).

I wouldn't say you need to cool it down from 75. That's basically the target operating temperature for a GPU. When it's up over 80 it's worth thinking about taking steps to cool it down, but 75 is just fine. You can experiment with popping a 120mm fan on the bottom of the case to blow air right onto the GPU, but don't expect much difference.

Ok, do you think the ACX cooler isnt placed properly on the gpu? Or would it be super high if that was the case?
