Can assassin's creed 4 run on Windows 8.1

I am getting a new pc and I bought windows 8.1( 64bit full version ) but I am not sure will I be able to play AC4. It says that runs on w8 but what about 8.1 , and is there a difference ? Can somebody help me with this?

well i have read that assassin's creed 3 doesn't run on windows 8.1, but on 8 can, and I was wondering if it is the same with AC4

it can. might have to run as admin or in compatability mode. but yeah. i got ac3 for free with my gpu and while it was ok. i didnt make it past a few hours bc it was walk 10ft, cutscene, open door cutscene. got on my nerves..
