Okay, so I am trying to upgrade my PC RAM into 16gb the thing is, can ASUS H61M-D support 16gb RAM DDR4/2133? I do not want to end up buying the RAM and won't be able to use it for a while until I buy a new Motherboard that actually supports it. What if it do not support the RAM I mentioned, should I buy the motherboard first instead? If yes, any suggestions which motherboard should I go that is good for at least 3-4 years. Thank you for the answers in advance much appreciated!

I would not be buying RAM until you actually need it. The price of RAM is pretty high at the moment.

I also assume that you mean to buy DDR3 RAM.

The ASUS H61M-D does not support DDR4.

When the time is right, buy CPU, MOBO and RAM at same time.
Only DDR3, 2x 8GB. For DDR4 a new motherboard & cpu is required.

Download QVL pdf for reference. Gskill or Corsair 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz/1866Mhz is what id recommend for this gen. Going higher wont be noticeable and would only stress the CPU's memory controller more.

New DDR3 memory if in stock might be costly. Might be worth checking second hand.
