[SOLVED] Can ASUS Maximus XI hero work with one stick 8gb ram?

I eventually want two sticks to bring it up to 16gb, but my budget only permits one stick. Will my computer still work using a single stick of 8gb?

Mb: ASUS Maximus XI hero

Ram: Corsair Vengeance, 8gb 2400mhz

CPU: Intel I5 8400 2.8ghz

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 ti

Power supply: EVGA Supernova 850 G2

Will it work? Yes. Will you be able to add another 8GB? Unknown. Will your performance be less than somebody with two DIMMs? Yes.
