Can bent cpu socket pins burn both the whole cpu socket and CPU

Second question is already answered by me. Yes, i put an i5 4690k on a z97 gaming 5 with bent pins and it burned the cpu. Tried the same cpu (on another, brand new mobo) that was working fine before and now it doesnt work. so main question is.: can a cpu socket with bbent pins damage ALSO the whole socket?

I remember when i took of the cpu after burning it, it had burned marks and the socket had the same marks on the same spots. Those this mean the Socket fried too? or it means that the cpu transferred the heat to those pins but the socket is still functional?

Another question: the bios shows up when the cpu power cord is unplugged. Anyone knows if these motherboards even turn on with a burned socket?

thanks

Depending on what pins were bent/shorted you could fry CPU, mobo, ram and/or PSU. Heck if you have bad luck you could even fry your graphics card.

From the above info I would say most probably both CPU and mobo will be dead. Swapping one of these isn't without risk of frying the swapped/new part eigther... If you're not unlucky, ram, psu and gc should be ok though imho.

good luck...

Btw, on the mb, the socket itself isn't your main concern. It's what's on the other end of the circuit that could be overvolted/overheated. Like PCH/chipset or voltage regulators or even ram...

Thats BGA (ball grid array). Only way to solder that is by emerging your whole mobo in solder. Quite impossible. Also voltage regulators are likely burnt. Dont waste your time and efforts on this, just buy a new one...

This "professional" i talk about, is real guru, he has all the machines, the knowledge, the maerials... he did epic things to revive dead notebooks.. a cpu mobo socket should be nothing for him. hes kind of a legend.
and yea, im getting an asus rampage v extreme x99 when i go to US soon. the msi willl be part of a gift for my brother).
anyways will the chinese part work if ipthe whole work is done well?

ps: someone already did this and put it in youtube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ5083Wvh1A
