Can chemical in compressed air cans destroy hardrives?

Will the chemical in the compressed air can's destroy my hardrive?
If there is no problem , will I be able to install it to my new rig ? My new rig is windows 10 and the old hardrive has windows 10 technical preview . will that be an issue . or can I format the drive ?

Hard drives are really sealed tightly so you won't see any issues with chemicals.

Yes you can just format the old drive so you can then use it for normal storage.

"do not cover these holes" - i have read that on various drive labels... doesn't sound sealed to me...

There is a vent hole to equalize air pressure inside the HDD with the outside air pressure to prevent flexing of the cover plate.

The only HDDs that are sealed are the helium-filled models.

I didn't mean that they were 100% sealed. Just that you'd have to be very unlucky to get anything in there. Also, there are filters on these entry points to prevent dust from getting in.

Furthermore, any decent compressed air can will not leave any residue if used properly as per the instructions.

Hm take out the hard drive from the pc clean it with regular cloth and clean the rest of the system with compressed Air
