Can cpu failure also have something to do with not reading hdd?

Hello,
So I have a problem with my pc not detecting my hard drives (tested with 4 different drives) I'm almost sure it's my psu failing and killing them all but I have another doubt. Could it be the cpu?
I have an fx 8350 and tested with different motherboards along with a evga supernova g2 1000 W. Tested running the dives with a low rate psu but still no recognition. Show I try with another fx 6 I have?

That is fully modular PSU. Are you using original cables of this PSU?
If not, then by using cables from a different PSU you may kill devices like HDD, because wrong voltage may be supplied.
