Can either of my two modem-routers be used as just a modem? How?

This is also known as bridging, or PPPOE passthrough. To clarify, I want the modem-router to do none of the routing, and just be used as a modem.

I have two router-modems, and I need to know if either of them can be used as just a modem. I keep reading the manuals, but since I'm not very familiar with networking, I can't be sure what the features I'm reading about are. Hopefully a person with experience can just skim the content table of the manual and tell me if it's possible.

The two routers with modems that I have are:
ADB P.DG A4001N, manual here:

Here's how the menu looks on it:

The Briding menu unfortunately doesn't look like it offers disabling the routing features of the device:

And Thompson TG585 v7, manual here:

Hopefully after knowing where to read I can do it myself, but if it's complicated I'll only select a solution after I can get the job done.

If it matters, the device I plan on using as the main router is Asus RT-AC66U. Planning on installing tomato on it.

Any help appreciated.

Cant find much in English on ADB modem.

The Thompson needs a firmware update to support putting it into modem only mode:http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=f9d276fcc88e36c93443c0632fb315f3&/topic,95646.0.html

Once in modem only mode you will net to configure the PPPoE authentication on your ASUS router as the modem will no longer handle "logging you in" to allow you onto the dsl network.

On a side note, you might want to give merlin a try for your AC66 router. I recently got a AC68P and like merlin on mine (I have used both tomato and dd-wrt in the past). Now if you need to custom scripts then I agree with going tomato from the get-go.

Thanks for the answer! As for custom firmware, I think I'll go with with tomato as I have some friends experienced with tomato. But if it something doesn't work out, I'll keep merlin in mind.

Well, my thompson is a v7. But I updated the firmware.

I can't find options for bridging, or passthrough or anything like that. Anyone care to look at what these screenshots of the router's menu to see if I'm missing it?
