6 Weeks ago my psu failed and been waiting for a new one.

I installed the new psu today and everything worked fine, except the onboard lan i225v. I keep getting an error 28 no matter what I do. I tried all drivers on the mb website. Windows update doesn't even suggest a driver. Even did two w11 reinstalls.

so my question can the PSU failure 6 weeks ago have corrupted the the lan controller? And only that?

Every other onboard device works fine. Which I find strange. Board is an Asus Z690 tuf gaming D4. With all latest drivers, management updates and latest bios.

Was this PSU failure related to a storm?

You might have taken a surge from the wiring/network causing the damage, perhaps?

Does Device Manager show the device?

I just got up one morning 6 weeks ago and the computer didn't want to turn on. Only light was the diod at the GPU connector.

Onboard Lan device shows up in device manager but claims an error 28, no proper driver installed. But non of Asus official intel drivers will it accept.

Perhaps so and really impossible to know. If everything else is working as expected aside from LAN it would make $ sense just to buy a network card.

Have you a wireless fob on hand that you can be sure it will actually connect that way, or onboard wireless to test with?
