Can extension cords be used to fit more on UPS?

Onto the question: I have exactly the right amount of outlets on the back of my UPS, however due to the shape of some of the plugs I can only fit 3/8. If I ordered some of the 4" extension cables would I be able to use them to fit everything in? (Keep in mind UPS is plugged directly into wall outlet as recommended)

(wasn't sure on which category, if need be mods please move to appropriate section)(Sorry if anything like this was already posted all I saw were threads about running the UPS to the wall with extension cable.)

Solution

I don't see a problem. Those devices are usually low power draw anyway. I'd typically use one of the wide space surge protectors for the square wall transformers. Then plug that into the surge or battery side. of the UPS. Depending on your priority.
The main thing is my modem, router, and a couple others have the rectangle shaped plugs and only half of my UPS connects to battery, the other half is just surge protector.
