Can Gigabyte GTX 1050 2gb handle Ultrawide 2560 x 1080p frameless?

Solution

Oh no. Only games require 4GB of vram. Yeah you can game with the 2GB frame buffer, but at anything larger than 1920x1080, your going to suffer a bit.

I would rather use Nvidia VC, can you recommend other GTX VC? thanks

I will mostly use it on Office work more on browsing and for games. I think i can reduce the resolution of the games i played like League of Legends and Dragon Nest. So 1050 with atleast 4gb will work right?

The 1050 can handle 1080p gaming, but not at high settings on newer or demanding games. Also the framerate won't necessarily be 60fps+. Since your ultra wide will be even higher resolution, the 1050 would be even lower in performance. The 1050 Ti is a faster card, and has more vram, which will give you better performance at not too much higher of a cost. The 1060 would be best, since it has enough power to handle that monitor without much of a struggle.

The thing that makes me think it's possible you only need a 1050 is the games you named are very undemanding. You could probably play those specific games fine on that ultra wide with the 1050. However, if you were to decide to play something more demanding, like GTA V, you will wish you had a 1060.

Yes i only play games like LOL and Dragon Nest dont need much graphics power. I just want to have the monitor to work properly on what graphics card can handle the display of the monitor. So i guess i can go to 1050 since it can handle the monitor's resolution. I'm not into a hard core gaming so that wont be a problem

So i really need 4gb to be able to have the monitor run smoothly? Not on the gaming side though just normal things and browsing. I just want to have a graphics card that can handle the resolution of the monitor so i can multitask

Oh sorry about that didnt know much on graphics card. So most likely 1050 can handle the monitor and i can only play games up to 1080p. Well i dont play much of that i just want this monitor since it has a split screen feature and has a wide angle size. thanks for the info

Actually, although it seems to be true that the 1050 can run 2 Monitors at 2560x1080 it does not seem capable of running 3 monitors @ 2560x1080. I built a new powerhouse 8th Gen 17-8700K Desktop with ROG gaming board, and currently am running a 1050 (due to lack of availability Massively inflated prices on graphics card currently, just using one I had, but my 1080 8GB is on the way now that prices back to reasonable) however no matter what I do, I can only get 2 of the 3 monitors (which I have run off even my laptop card sucessfully before for 2 + 1 off a USB to HDMI display adapter) to run at 2560x1080. I've had this problem in the past with other lower-to-midrange NVIDIA cards ... so although the answers above are true in the case of 2 displays, it does not/will not work with 3 2560x1080 displays to my knowledge/experience (Working on that desktop right now and 2 running correct the other shows max resolution available as 1920x1080)
