pretty much exactly what the thread title says. I'm trying to troubleshoot reasons that my AMD/ATI HD7850 is not being picked up by the device manager and Catalyst isn't installing.
The System recognizes your Video Card? or no mesages at all? The power cables on the video card are connected?
no the system is not recognising the video card. it's not telling me anything to say that it's not there. all the power cables are connected up and the GPU is in the pcie slot, where it's supposed to be. the real question I have here is: should I still be able to install Catalyst Control Centre for an AMD/ATI HD 7850 graphics card if the card itself is not being picked up by the motherboard?
Curious situation.
The display output is from the PCIE card?
Maybe the motherboard has disabled the new card if the display is connected at the onboard output.
Are you seeing video through the pci express video card? If yes, probably the generic drivers have been installed= you install the Catalyst Control Centre, if not, you can send us a picture of the actual video driver?
Hey guys, thanks for offering your input. it turned out that the card itself was dead on delivery. I took it back to the place I bought it and they exchanged it for a new one. I'm up and running, my card works fine
