Can I add a 4 gb ram module to an 8 gb one

Amusing they are both the same speed 1 4 gb 1600 and 2 4 gb 1600. Would it work. I have an Asus Maximus vii hero.

They are 2 Kingston savages 1600 speed. Though Is it possible for me to put an 8 gb kit of 1600 corsair vengeance pro and a kit of 4 gb Kingston savage?

It's better if it's in matching pairs , so that it runs in DUAL channel mode.
