Hi,

Is it possible to add a MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G to my PC:

Operating System
Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
8,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
Acer Aspire XC-605 (LGA1150)
Graphics
SyncMaster (1680x1050@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Acer Incorporated [ALI])
Storage
926GB Seagate ST1000DX001-1CM162 ATA Device (SATA)
2794GB Intenso USB 3.0 Device USB Device (USB (SATA))
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GHB0N ATA Device
Audio
High Definition Audio-Gerät

I have a better PSU, which would be capable of handling the GPU.
The CPU and GPU are worked onto the motherboard.

Thanx,
Luca

Acer Aspire XC-605 is a slim and small form factory build pc (correct me if i'm wrong). therefore, judging from the back of the case, it does not offer any full size pci card expansion slots, which it means you cannot add a full sized graphics card into your system.

yes, you can definitely add a dedicated graphics card to a mid tower case. Now, before you do that there are three things to be mindful about:
1. does you motherboard have a pci-e slot available for you to install the graphics card?
2. does you power supply have enough power to satisfy the additional power demand from the graphics card?
3. does your new case have enough clearance from the back expansion slot to the HDD case to accommodate teh graphics card you want to buy?

In your original post, you didn't mention the graphics card you are after, the wattage of your psu or the motherboard model, so it's a little hard for the rest of us to give you specific help and recommendations.
However, judging from the look of the case, the motherboard might be an itx boards (smallest motherboards size), and it looks like it has a wireless card installed on it. therefore you might not have a second pcie slot for your graphics card, when you transfer the board to a mid tower case if you are planning to use your existing board in the new build.

It's just sometimes branded off-shelf factory pc (hp, acer and lenovo) have very small cases which are not the pc industry standard format, cos they design their own cases to suit their needs. However, it does not mean all off the shelf pcs are terrible; most of them are absolutely fine to add an extra graphics card.
