Question Can I add an additional HD

Hello,

I want to add one additional 2TB hard drive on my desk top.
I am considering this HD,

My PC is an HP pavilion TG01.
Motherboard is HP 8906.

I already have one HD and one SSD.

I took those pictures.

Could you kindly let me know if the motherboard can support the seagate HD?

Is the SSD an M.2 drive?

The motherboard appears to have 2 SATA ports. One of them is currently used by the HDD.
If there is an unused one, a new drive would connect to that.

I bought the HD and put in place.

Now when I turn on the PC , it does not boot.

You see the windows trying to boot for 1-2 seconds then the screen goes black.

Does any one know what might have gone wrong?

Check, if all drives are being properly detected in BIOS.
Check, if boot priority settings have not been changed after adding new drive.

Try connecting new drive to a different sata port.

jump into the BIOS, find the 'boot menu', and make sure your original drive is still listed as first...save and exit, and hopefully all will be well.

Any new drive will need to be initialized and quick formatted in 'Disk Management', accessible by right clicking on Win10 Start Menu. Afterwards, it should then show and be accessible in 'This PC', etc...
