Can I attach external speakers to my XB270HU monitor(that has USB ports only)?

I am trying to use roku on my monitor. XB270HU has no speakers and so I was think to attach a sound card to it and speakers to that soundcard to get sound. Is it possible? Thanks

[strike]That should theoretically be possible, since the monitor seems to have a USB hub built in (you'll probably need to run a usb cable from your PC to the monitor as well). I don't see what advantage it has over connecting speakers directly to your PC motherboard, though.[/strike]

Edit: I misunderstood what you were asking. The USB ports on the monitor only act as a hub, they don't provide expansion capability for things like usb sound cards when hooking up a Roku. The Roku 1 has RCA audio outputs, though, so you can get an adapter for those to 3.5mm TRS for PC speakers.

Thanks for the reply. So you mean I just need to attach my speakers to roku via adapter? If yes, Can you please refer me to that specific adapter?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G28N2659 should work, provided you have a Roku model that includes the RCA composite video and audio out, and the settings will allow you to route audio to that while using HDMI for video.
