Can i be able to play ONLINE games on European servers from INDIA?

Guys,, MY CURRENT PING on the Indian servers are 70-90ms.
My question is, will i be able to play a online games like BF 3 on European servers?
and what do you think, will i be able to get a ping below than 150 on those servers?
My Down speed is 400 KB/s
and Upload is 90-110 KB/s

its possible but you will probably be close to the limit. best thing to do is try pinging the servers and see what you get. 90ms is already pretty bad latency for an FPS.

see, i have not upgraded my net so this is the guess that they will provide a average ping of 60-70 ms on Indian servers, but you are saying that 90 ms is a bad for the online fps games??
DAMN! but I've read forums and from that, i conclude that if you are getting a ping, below than 120 ms then it is good for playable online fps games..
so what do you think, or what do you guess, will i be able to get a stable ping of 100 0r 120 ms on those Europeans servers??

You are going to have to do a lot of work to find a answer by digging through online tools from the ISP. What you are looking for are called looking glass sites that let you issue network commands from the vendor routers.

So I went to one of the largest ISP in india TATA

I then told it to run a trace from Chennai to their router in Amsterdam which I will omit how I found the IP for now.

This is what I see

Now this is completely within TATA network. You can trace to other ISP if you work at it but this will be a BEST case if you were to buy service from Tata.

What you can see is it takes about 150ms....ignore the jumping around of the numbers.

The reason is the path goes from chennai to mumbai then goes to france then to england and then finally back to amsterdam.

Now this is tottaly within 1 provider and you can see it does not take the best path. When you get multiple providers it gets really hard but you can find it if you work hard enough

As always I agree with bill001g,

Dont get me wrong you should be able to play without horrendous lag , but people with lower ping will always have an advantage over people with higher ping. On good European connections now 20-25 ms latency would be quite typical. This means in a face to face, shoot or be shot situation, they will have 100ms advantage over you, which is actually quite a lot. Some games take measures to try and make things fair but none of them are that effective, you are better off on playing on servers with low ping.
