Can i boot up my build?

Hello everyone, i think i about finished wiring my first homebuilt pc. I would like to test it out right now to see if it is working but my PSU will not be here until monday.

However i do have a 600w psu from my old computer, can i throw that in for now, and just not put in my GPU?

my specs:

case: haf x
mobo: asrock extreme3 gen3
cpu: i5 2500k with high end cpu cooler
gpu: gtx 580
ram: ripjaws 8gb
HDD: samsung 1TB
