Hi i want to bring an arctic liquid freezer 240 aio from Austria to Albania. I'm not sure if they Will allow me to bring an aio.the Airline is Austrian Airline. I need a response quickly because my plane leaves in about 2 weeks

Best answer;
Contact airline and ask the list of allowed hand luggage.
They also have list of allowed luggage (which is stored in the belly of the plane during flight), which you can ask for.

Since each airline has their own rules about luggage, we can't answer you that directly.

2 weeks? Plenty of time to research that. I initially thought 2 hours. 😆

Call and ask the carrier would be the most simple way to find out.

General rules say 100mm liquid volume or less is allowed as carry on, but I'm not sure that computer hardware counts as a liquid container. Either way you should be able to check it, but be prepared for it to be examined thoroughly.

The more important thing to note is if the AIO contains any chemicals that could negatively impact the structural integrity of the aircraft or is flammable in certain conditions. As far as I know, AIOs don't have either.

(although on a tangent, if you did buy thermal compound to use instead of what came with the AIO, "liquid metal" based ones are definitely not allowed due to using ingredients that will basically eat aluminum, which is commonly used for aircraft construction)

In any case, the easiest way to get it on board would be to throw it in your checked luggage in its original packaging. If having it in its original packaging is not viable, then use your clothes for cushioning and pack it in tight.
