Can I build my PC on a glass desk while standing on carpet?

Hi,

I was wondering if I can build my pc on a glass desk while standing on carpet? I don't have the anti-static wrist strap so i don't know if I can.

The Static scare is a little overdone in my opinion. I have built multiple computers in my couple years of playing on pc and i have never used anti static products and never damaged a part. Others might have different opinions but i say you're fine for sure.

Just make sure to touch a metal part of the case from time to time to make sure you're not building a charge that differs from that of the case. This will prevent ESD when installing components into the case.

I've actually built on carpet a few times. As long as you don't allow your charge to differ from that of the case, you can never shock the case or any components in it. Any case that has a large amount of metal in it (pretty much every case on the market) is conductive enough to adsorb most any charge that could be built up by putting on a pair of slippers and scooting around the carpet like the inner child in you wants to.

Don't do this: I built a system using parts that I don't recommend. So how was it? I had to use a dremmel just to get the parts to fit together.

Lol so don't buy used parts and don't cheap out on psu
