It can read that kind of disc (sure)
I mean it can read that free disc that cames with Digit magazine.
[Sorry for bad English]

It also depends on what you're burning, and how you're burning it. I have found out that DL disks are pretty picky - one batch from one brands works well on that recorder. Same brand, another batch - many errors. So, (for DL disks), it is fail-or-pass.

@Cyborg - download an app like ImgBurn, it will tell you whether your recorder supports DL.

Yeah I've noticed this as well. I've burned a lot of single layer DVDs and have had lots of bad batches from time to time, I haven't ever burned a BD-R disc and I also haven't burned a DL disc in a while but I definitely know of the problem, and that's usually batch dependent.
