Question Can I change my apu for a cpu?

First assuming it'll even support swapping the CPU, there is no graphics card in it so you wouldn't get any video.

So the only thing you could swap out for is a higher end APU of the same generation and socket type.

And also anything with a higher core and or thread count would run hotter.

There's also the issue of wasting unnecessary money on such a sidegrade.

So to put it simply, no. You cannot and should not bother to try and change it the CPU. Sorry.

Most laptops from the past 10 or so years have their CPU soldered to the motherboard like this to cut costs and save ~2mm in total thickness. For most people, this means upgrading is not possible.

For $300, you could upgrade to a newer laptop with a 3000-series APU if you can find one with whatever other features you want.
