Can I change out my CPU for another.

Like the title says, can I switch out my current cpu for a upgraded version while keeping the same motherboard. I understand that I would need to get a cpu that is compatible with my motherboard socket, but just wanted to know if it could be done.

you have to tell us the motherboard to know. make and model number? But, yes it can be done, where the hardware allows.
