Can i check if my Graphics card is working?

I'm planning on building a new PC but I want to carry over the Graphics card. I have a 650ti 2gb and my PC will automatically turn off when running a demanding game, like GTA V, I am 90% sure this is a CPU issue (I have a the AMD FX8350 Black Edition) and I am confident it is overheating. I've monitored the temp using 'speed fan' and it suggests that this is the issue but I want to sure that I don't have a graphics card issue, is there a way to check this?

Btw i know the 650ti isnt the best card out there and i plan to upgrade in the future but want to know this for the short term.

Install the card in another computer, if it works fine then, issue is not with the video card.
