Can I clean a hub?

In 2008 I purchased a Belkin 7-PORT USB 2.0 Hub (Model #F5U237V) and over the years the black, rubbery surface area has become sticky to the touch. Can I clean it with something to safely remove this residue? Thanks.

Sure. I'd try with alcohol, or cleaning wipes.
