can i combine an APU and a GPU?

Hi. I was doing some thinking, i recently bought a second hand pc off "craigslist" and it has a Gigabyte motherboard which only allows the use of APUs due to the fact that it does not have integrated graphics. A friend gave me an old gpu (GeForce 9500GT) but it is worst than the apu.(The apu is bad too) I was wondering if there was any way i can combine the both and have a better experiece?  cpu= AMD A6-5400K

Yes, but not the GPU you have. If you had an AMD GPU then you can crossfire the APU and GPU.
