Can I combine my OS drive with a blank drive in to a RAID 0 configuration without losing the data on the OS Drive?

Hi, thanks for reading. As title really, I have my OS drive, and a blank drive. I'd like to combine them in RAID 0, but not lose any of my data. Is this possible?

Solution

What size are these drives?
Which OS is this?

Adding them in a RAID 0 makes exactly the same drive space as the two drives without the hassles and hazards of the RAID 0.
Assuming of course, these drives are of the proper size for a RAID 0.

Having a second drive and drive letter is incredibly easy.

No.

And why, specifically, RAID 0? What is the reasoning for this desired configuration?

More than 1TB needed for what?

A 1TB drive is more than enough for the OS and all your applications. The other 1TB drive would hold other things. Games, downloads, doc/music/video.

1TB + 1TB + RAID 0 = 2TB usable space.
1TB + 1TB + no RAID 0 = 2TB usable space. Just that its two different drive letters. Easily manipulated.
