Hi,

Can I connect a second WD My Cloud NAS drive to my existing WD My Cloud 3tb so that the second one can act as a back-up (mirror) the first one?

many thanks,

sevenzero

This is an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT question, and a great reason to purchase several of these drives.

A single backup of data on a NAS is not a backup. We should also have an offsite (in the garage) or remotely in the office, or across country of our data. Be prepared for a drive failure, a fire or a theft of the NAS drive itself.

yes you can , becaus bacup in software from wd you can choose any disk in your home network , than if you have wdmycloud 1 an 2 , on first you can configure bacupo whatever you want , and on second wdmycloud yo choose backup firs disk , sorry for my bad english

Not sure this is RAID1, but probably would work. It would be better to be able to setup a realtime reflection of all data written that spans the internet and allows a real site-to-site mirroring of ones MyCloud.
