Can i connect a 1366x768 laptop to a 1920x1080 external monitor?

I decided that i want to buy an external monitor, keyboard and mouse to use my laptop as a PC. So i need to know, can i hook a 768p laptop to a 1080p monitor via an HDMI cable or will it not work?

Yes you can. I doubt anymore details are needed but i have done this multiple times across many different laptops and various Monitors/TV's. Hope this helps

the 1366x768 laptop - only means that the laptop's screen has a native resolution of 1366x768. An external monitor won't affect this, and a 1080 monitor would be fine.
