Can I connect a 6 pin SATA with 2 ends to only one HDD?

Hello, I'm pretty new to building computers, and was wondering if a 6-pin sata power supply cable with two ends can be connected to only one HDD. The power supply is a corsair TX550M if that's to any help. Thanks!
