Hi!, I have a PCIe 6 pin male to a dual 6 pin male, it's a old version of a cable for a GPU that has 2X6 pin female entries, this cable is 22 AWG 300W each one. Now, I have bought a cable PCIe 6 pin female to a 8 pin male (6+2) with a cable 18 AWG 300W, because my GPU has a 8 pin female. My idea was to connect the 6 pin female to one of the 6 pin male of the dual cable, and the 6 pin male to the power PSU entrie, the 8 pin male to the GPU entrie. But now I'm on doubt, only 1 of the PCIe 6 pin connections can suply the 150W to the PCIe 8 pin end cable? Can I hang the other cable without using it? I want to know, and if there's no risk. Thank you.

Tht's not a good idea.

:( I was thinking this:

Also, some people have done this without problems...
The motherboard can actually run at 75W from the PCI 3.0 and the cable should provide 150W because the 8 pin PCIe, in total, should provide 225W I think. When I bought this DELL also provide a Alienware X51 R2 model with a GTX 660, that has a 170 Power Consumption, I mean, DELL has done it before...
