Can I connect an old VelociRaptor to an Asrock FM2a75m Pro4+?

I bought the mobo to upgrade my wife's system. I have a number of old IDE drives but can't find where to connect them on the mobo. Do I need to buy a new SATA drive? Ideally, I'd like to transfer her old drive to the VelociRaptor just because it's lying in a drawer doing nothing. At worst, just hook up the old drive to the new system.

Can any of this be done?

You can use the old drives for extra storage. A sata3 drives do not come close to sata2 speeds. HDD's are slow so using those old drives will not be so much of a bad thing. A SSD would be the way to go and use the old drives for storage.
