So I have a display that connects to my graphics card, HDMI/Display Port. I’m also looking into buying a second display, but I don’t want to spend too much money because all I will be doing is having discord open, OBS, the web, or YouTube open. I found a cheap, renewed monitor, but it only has a VGA cable. My motherboard has a vga out, and my main monitor is connected to my graphics card. I could buy a vga to HDMI adapter, but would it work if I just connected it to my motherboard, would it increase the lid on my cpu by more than it could if I connected it to my gpu?

Depends on the motherboard. What are you specs?

Some motherboards disable onboard IGPU when a discrete card is installed and active. Some have settings for it in BIOS you have to enable.

EDIT: Didn't see OP and COLGeek's posts as I was typing. Otherwise, wouldn't have posted. OP please do what he said.
