I have been plugging my cable directly into my Hauppauge 2250 TV tuner installed in my PC
Now I must use a set top box in between. It has options for using cable or HDMI to attach to my TV tuner. My tuner has only cable input, but my motherboard has a HDMI port. Can I use a HDMI cord to connect STB to PC instead of using coaxial cable? I want to watch TV in HD 1080. I watch on my monitor connected to my graphics card by DVI.

Thank you DM Gold,
I seem to only get 480i using cable. How could I watch in HD? Would I need:
Tuner with HDMI input
Replace monitor with small HDTV that has HDMI to use to watch TV and use as a monitor
New graphics card with HDMI
