Can I connect monitors with different resolutions?

I bought a single 1440p 120hz monitor.

I was hoping to buy a second hand 1080p monitor just for productivity.

Is it possible to connect both monitors and maintain the resolution of the better monitor? I was hoping to use the better one for single monitor gaming and the other monitor for browsers and such.

Yes. They each will display their maximum resolution respectively and won't be compromised.

No. Just that you will have to set videos on youtube to 1440p if available and change video settings to 1440p in games to display desire resolution.

Your welcome. Just verify in screen resolution to see what resolution is being displayed.

Update: In screen resolution, make sure to select "Extend These Displays". To access screen resolution simply right click on empty desktop area.
