[SOLVED] Can I connect my 60hz laptop to this 144hz monitor?

Hey!
My 60 hz laptop (asus gl553ve) runs at 60hz. I get 100-170 fps on the game I play.

Can it support the Asus VG248QE?
Can it run at 144hz if I connect it with no issues?

Yeah, that HDMI port on the laptop should support 1080p@144hz.

an HDMI 2.0 cable should do but I haven't tested with GTX card. I am getting 144 fps through hdmi with my 580 and freesync.

I believe you have to use display port for gsync.

Still curious how that freesync can kick in. Ff similar to AMD freesync, I don't see why HDMI can not do G-Free-Sync. AMD shows HDMI is more than capable of doing 144 freesync. It may not be available now, i am just curious.

Yeah, I dont know enough about how gsync works and if it can run through an HDMI cable through a software update.

Yeah, that HDMI port on the laptop should support 1080p@144hz.

The HDMI port on the VG248QE monitor does not support 144 Hz at 1080p.
